Review: Green People Organic Babies Soothing Baby Salve

I've had the pleasure of reviewing the Organic Babies Soothing Baby Salve which is produced by Green People.  Their products are not tested on animals, contain no nasty chemicals or irritants and they donate 10% of net profit to health and environmental charities which are 2 more reasons to love this wonderful organic brand.

My daughter suffers with mild cases of eczema, dry skin and occasional heat rashes.  The salve was really put to the test during the recent heatwave as she developed a very bad heat rash on top of the eczema that had started to develop behind her knees and in the crook of her arms.   Her skin was red, dry, irritated and sore.

I applied a very small amount of the salve to the affected areas and as it says on the tube, you honestly only need the smallest amount.  It is slightly greasy but doesn't leave an oily residue and has a very pleasant lavender scent.

Within a matter of days I saw a noticeable difference on my daughter's skin and within a week her skin was soft, moisturised, not red or irritated and the patches of eczema had more or less gone.  I breathed a huge sigh of relief as this was the first produce that I had tried in a long time that didn't need to be applied in a thick layer and that worked so effectively in seemingly no time at all.

What is it the baby salve made with?

  • 96% organic ingredients including Hemp and Calendula (helps to reduce inflammation and soreness of the skin).
  • Rich in Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids (essential for healthy skin).
  • Beeswax (helps to create a water proof barrier on baby's bottom).
What can it be used for?
  • Nappy rash.
  • Dry skin.
  • Soothing heat rash.
  • Eases eczema, psoriasis and other adult skin allergies.
  • Soothes dry cracked heals and hands.

As my daughter's skin is so sensitive I decided to bath her in the Organic Children citrus and aloe vera bath and shower wash at the same time that I tested the salve.  We have very hard water in our area and when she was bathed in other commercial brands her skin was left feeling dry afterwards.  This wasn't the case with the Organic Children bath and shower wash.  Her skin felt soft and moisturised from the first wash and was noticeably less dry and irritated.

I have also used the salve on my own skin when I developed a skin irritation on my left hand which disappeared a day or two after applying it.  Only the most minuscule amount need be applied to have a very noticeable effect.

The RRP for the Organic Babies soothing baby salve is £9.70 for 100ml  and the Organic Children bath and shower gel RRP is £7.75 for 200ml.  The range is available for purchase through John Lewis, Ocado, Independent Health stores and at the Green People online store.

You can find more The Green People baby and children products here.

Note: We were sent the baby salve completely free of charge by The Green People to test and review.  The bath and shower gel was purchased at the RRP by the Blogger herself.  All views are our own, completely honest and unbiased.
