All-in-One Mum Weekly Goal No.1

Image
Welcome to my first All-in-One Mum personal weekly goal! As each of us is so wonderfully different I find it extremely interesting to see what others are striving towards in their lives, hence I've created my All-in-One Mum Weekly Goals and All-in-One Mum Weekly Achievements. My challenge to you is to set a goal for the week.  It can be as simple as making a small change to your daily routine, trying a new task, writing that blog post you never got around to doing, spending more time with your children, trying a new or interesting recipe or as ambitious as getting that marathon time you've always wanted or trying a new hobby that you thought was impossible to do.   Each Sunday you get the opportunity to write down a task that you are wanting to achieve for that particular week.   Add your name/blog name and link to your blog in the linky at the bottom of my post and you will have the opportunity to share your goals and dreams with the rest of t...

Reason to Celebrate!

Image
I have just finished my first book of 2012!!! Hoorah!!! 'Aleph', written by the world renowned author Paulo Coehlo, is also the first book that I've completed since I went on maternity leave in March 2010! Double Hoorah!!!! I won't write a review on this particular title as I don't think I can. I take something very personal from each of the books that I've read of his over the years and I don't feel that I want to share it, to be honest. One thing I will say though is that whenever I have read one of Paulo's books, they have always fitted perfectly into my life situation at the time, giving clarity to what was taking place or opening my thoughts to a new way of seeing the world. I think that there are quite a few others that would say the same thing. I'm sure there are many that would think I was nuts and talking utter rubbish and that are quite happy that I am keeping my views quiet. Anyway, how exactly will I be celebrating this mo...

Worst week to be a New Year's resolution...

According to the Mail Online, yesterday was the day that most individuals in the UK give up their New Year's resolutions, just 9 days after they have made them!  Most of them were based around fitness and well being but people just didn't think they could stick to what they had planned.  It's rather scary, don't you think?  You can find the article here:  New Year's resolutions: Today is the day most people will give them up | Mail Online How many of you have actually stuck to the goals that you have set for yourself for this?  What are they?  What were they? How long do you think it will take to achive them?  Have a fabulous day! Ax

Making time for me (aka mommy)

I used to work in London until March 2010 when I went on maternity leave.  During my commute to and from work, and sometimes even during my lunch breaks, I would read.  I would read one or two books in a single week on a regular basis. Since then I have struggled to even get a quarter of the way through any book that I've opened.  I can't even attribute this to lack of time or sleep.  It's more a case of not actually making the time for myself and this has become a very bad habit.  No more I say, no more!!! Reading relaxes me and transports me to wherever the books is based.  I become one with the characters and almost end up feeling attached to them.  It's a beautiful sense of freedom and walking into a bookstore and browsing for an hour or so is still one of my favourite things to do.  The smell and touch of a new book is something very special to this world. As part of my bucket list for 2012 I have made a list of 11 paperbacks that I wan...

New Years Resolutions

Image
I've never been a big one for making New Years resolutions as I don't really believe that we need to wait for a new year to change our habits and ways of thinking. Yes, I know that I waited until 2012 to blog again but that has more to do with using the work free days to create a new habit. What I am going to do over the next day or two is make three 2012 bucket lists. These will be colourful lists of things I'd like to do, places I want to visit by myself or with family and food that I want to cook or bake. The joy is, I can always add to any of the lists but never take away of course. I think of it as a way of making sure I use these 366 days to their fullest and I'll keep monthly checks to see how I'm doing and post the results as the months pass. Do you have any big plans for 2012? A x
