2 books that I just have to have!!!

1. The Kashmir Shawl by Rosie Thomas . I've only read 2 of her books; Constance and Iris and Ruby. They are 2 of the most beautiful stories that I have ever read. I can remember almost ever detail, from start to end. I'm reading another book at the moment so didn't buy this today, as I know I'd put it to the side straight away! 2. Aleph by Paulo Coehlo. Paulo's books have always come into my life at a time when I needed clarity, help or guidance. I look at every situation in life as something that I can learn from, and this is the way that I read Paulo's novel's. I adore Paulo's writing and it has had a profound change on the way that I view certain aspects of my life as well as my actions, and reactions.

root veg pasta with cheese

One of my daughter's favourite meals! Peel 1 carrot, 1 parsnip and 1 sweet potato. Put into a pot of water, bring to the boil and then reduce to a simmer. Cook for about 5 to 10 minutes until soft. Remove from heat and pour into a sieve to allow veg to cool down. Boil a small portion of baby pasta. I like the Boots baby pasta . These usually cook for about 6 minutes. Take off the heat and drain through a fine sieve or strainer, otherwise they will fall right through an adult size one! I just judge the portion size according to hunger, and age of Bella. If I have extra veg, I mash it slightly and freeze it for another day. Combine the veg and pasta, grate a small amount of cheddar cheese over the top. I sometimes serve it with 1 or 2 florets of broccoli which I cook in the last few minutes with the other veg. Serve and let baby enjoy!

Hemisphere/Season Confusion

Being South Africa, I associate September as being the beginning of Spring, albeit it that Spring only officially begins on 22 September. The one problem I have is...I live in the UK! Well, regardless, it's a gorgeous day outside and I had a beautiful walk with Isabella, who ended up having a lovely long nap in her Bugaboo. It feels like spring, smells like spring, so in my mind, it is spring!!! Days like this make me smile inside and out and make me think how thankful I am for all that I have. Bliss!
